Linda is a licensed Family Therapist and Certified Care Manager. She has been a Geriatric Care Manager since 1984 and started her private practice in Walnut Creek, California in 1989. Eldercare Services is now a full-service geriatric care company, employing over 20 Professional Geriatric Care Managers and more than 250 employees, serving the San Francisco Bay Area with offices in Walnut Creek, San Francisco and Oakland.

Prior to private practice, Linda was the Director of the first Dementia Respite Program in the San Francisco East Bay, where she envisioned and created a unique program for individuals in the early stages of a dementia. Linda is the immediate past President of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers (NAPGCM) and past President of the Western Regional Chapter. She is still serving on the Board as the Past President and as chair of the Public Relations commitee. Linda earned the distinction of “Fellow” of the Leadership Academy with the NAPGCM in 2008. This distinction recognizes professionals who have demonstrated themselves to be advanced practitioners and experts in the field of Geriatric Care Management. Fellows maintain a strong commitment to the mission, leadership and programs of the NAPGCM.

Most recently, Linda was awarded with the 2011 B.J. Curry Spitler Community Service Award by the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers (NAPGCM) for her contribution in the field of Geriatric Care Management and in her community.

The National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers (NAPGCM) honored Linda with the Adele Elkind award in 2008. This is the Association’s most prestigious award bestowed upon a member who has greatly contributed to the national and local levels of service in the field of Geriatric Care Management.

Linda was awarded the John F. Kennedy University Laureate award for her significant contributions to the University and her community in 2007. Linda also serves as a guest faculty member of JFK University .

Linda served on a select committee of experts appointed by Mayor Gavin Newsom which delivered award winning Alzheimer’s Care Planning for San Francisco in 2009.

Linda’s advice to family caregivers has been quoted in many national magazines such as Consumer Reports, Forbes, Kiplinger’s and USA Today as well as the Wall Street Journal. Linda has been featured in several local newspapers, including the Contra Costa Times, East Bay Business Times and SF Business Times, as an expert in the field of Elder Care. She has also been quoted in the Diablo Regional Art Association Magazine, as she strongly advocates the importance of promoting and providing access to the arts for seniors. Linda, an ardent communicator, has also had articles published in professional magazines relevant to the industry.

Linda teaches a variety of classes to family caregivers and professionals and is passionate about promoting the value of Professional Geriatric Care Management.
