Eldercare Services, a Professional Care Management and Home Care Services company that has been in business since 1989, is seeking the right person to join our team. Currently, we are seeking a compassionate and talented On-Call Caregiver/Office Assistant to ensure that caregiving services are available to our clients in an emergency Monday-Thursday during office hours and Sundays remotely. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
The On-Call Caregiver/Office Assistant is a member of our staffing team that provides 24/7 coverage to employees and clients. This position will work in the office Monday-Thursday between the hours of 8am and 6pm (to be determined), will assist in the office with duties as assigned, and work in the field with clients to provide urgent caregiving assistance as needed. On Sundays this individual will work from home and provide emergency caregiving assistance to our clients and/or until appropriate relief personnel can be found.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
This position will provide skilled caregiving services as needed in urgent situations. Applicants must be proficient in transfers, bathing, cooking, reporting, transportation and household needs. Office responsibilities include, but are not limited to, copying, filing, telephone answering, data entry and retrieval, assistance with company functions.
Skills and Specifications:
Five years of caregiving experience in a home care, hospice, or home health environment strongly preferred.
- Must hold a California State Driver’s License driver and have an insured vehicle
- Communication skills both verbal and written
- Must be detailed oriented with good follow-through
- Must be able to work as part of a team environment
- Must be computer literate & experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Must be available to work Monday-Thursday in the office & Sundays remotely
- Must be able to be flexible and adaptable
Education and Qualifications:
- C.N.A. preferred with five years of caregiving experience
- Non-C.N.A. may be considered with verifiable skills and 5-10 years of experience
- Previous experience in a staffing/scheduling environment a plus
- Previous administrative office experience a plus
- Prefer someone who lives within a 30 minute commute of the Walnut Creek office.
