For the first time this year my friend and client Mike is at my cabin in Arnold for a local care show. When his sister’s care needs escalated he called me for advice. I said "stand by for a phone call from Eldercare Services." He went on and on last night about the services his Care Manager provided, "Sylvia’s a Godsend and I couldn’t have done it without her." Mike’s sister is in new surroundings with the best care she has ever received and my friend Mike has his life back.

I want you to know we would never have had our father under the best care if it hadn’t been for you. Dad is peaceful and finally at “home.” He is now carving out a new chapter of life for himself with a little guidance, thanks to your help… (We) thank you with all our hearts.

Thank you so much for holding my hand as I held my father’s hand through those ever-changing weeks…You truly were my eyes and ears when I couldn’t be with my dad.

The entire staff at Eldercare has made my life ‘happy’ despite losing my wife. I give you all the credit for my happiness. At the end everyone at Eldercare, even your receptionist, knew my voice and who I was.

I want to express my gratitude for the quality care and support given to my mother. The caregiver had a very caring, gentle and pleasing manner which was very much appreciated by my mother.

Shortly after Dad passed, we had to call upon Eldercare once again due to Mom’s incapacitation. Again, our Care Manager Mary provided advocacy on how to best provide Mom with the care she needed in her home. Over the next six years, as Mom’s mobility declined and her need for ADL assistance increased, Mary was right there for us helping make the decisions on how to provide the most comfort and dignity for our loving mom.

Thank you so much for creating the 'Do's and Don't page' for communication with a person who has a dementia. It is wonderful, and helped me today with my dad. I talked with him on the phone and just kept looking at the page, to be sure I stayed 'on script'. We were able to talk for 30 minutes, which was delightful. At the bottom of the page you share the tip that one of the goals is to convey to the person that you understand what he/she is feeling. I did this by tuning into the emotions he is experiencing, within the delusion, rather than join him in reshaping the NBA All-star game (he was assigned the task...). I said, "Wow, that sounds scary and also important." and by staying with what is true, his feelings, we stayed more connected. I don't know if this is of any help to share; I just felt like sending it on the tiny chance, since your email address was right there on the page.
