Walnut Creek Walk to End Alzheimer’s
On Saturday, October 17, 2015 Eldercare Services participated in the Walnut Creek Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Heather Farm Park. Twenty-one clients, client family members, employees and employee family members donated and walked as a team.
Eldercare Services raised $915 and with their company matching program the total donation was $1,830 to the Alzheimer’s Association through their participation in the Walnut Creek Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
The Walk is the world’s largest event to fight Alzheimer’s disease with over 600 walks nationwide. At this location there were 227 teams participating and 1,597 walkers at the event! Although donations are still being accepted, the total raised so far at this event is $298,590 towards Alzheimer’s support, care and research.
One of Eldercare’s core values is compassion. Our participation in events such as the Alzheimer’s Walk is a great example of our dedicated team of employees working together and demonstrating empathy and understanding for an illness that affects a large number of people that we serve. The Eldercare team ended the walk with a company sponsored picnic lunch at the park to celebrate the event.
It’s not too late to donate! If you’d like to make a donation to the Eldercare Services team fundraiser click here.
