We all see it as we grow older; most of us experience some changes in height and stature. Why do we lose that height? According to the Huffington Post (July, 2015), our bones may shrink as we get older and the gel like discs in our backs may compress resulting in a loss of height.
The DMV indicates that loss of height and conditions of aging may make operating your automobile a bit trickier but there is help. AARP and AAA support Car Fit (http://www.car-fit.org/) This is designed to allow you to understand how you and your vehicle “fit together”.
CarFit indicates that senior drivers may be among the safest drivers as seniors have a better tendency to use their seat belts and less likely to break the speed limit; however, the change in our bodies and the frailty that we may experience make us more vulnerable in an accident.
