The ability to drive is often a challenge for older adults who face physical or cognitive declines as they move into the “golden years”. This challenge is often a hard one for families as well as for the individual because we are such a mobile society and social engagement is a healthy part of longer lives.
This week at the White House Conference on Aging, a short video was shared showing how those who can no longer drive can get the UBER application for their smart phones and find rides anywhere and feel secure getting information on their drivers before they even show up!
So, if Mom or Dad is faced with losing the ability to drive, get them a simple “smart phone” and download the UBER app – for happy, socially engaged parents!
