Linda Fodrini-Johnson
A licensed Family Therapist and Professional Certified Care Manager since 1984; Linda is the Founder of Eldercare Services, a full-service care agency in the San Francisco Bay Area. Eldercare has been providing Care Management, Home Care / Caregiving services, advocacy, counseling, support groups and education since 1989. Eldercare Services now employs over a dozen highly-skilled professional Certified Care Managers and over 200 employees.
Prior to private practice, Linda was the Director of the first Dementia Respite Program in the East Bay where she envisioned and created a unique program for individuals in the early stages of dementia.
Linda is a past President of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers (NAPGCM) and past President of the Western Regional Chapter. She currently serves on the National Public Relations and Human Resources Committees. Linda earned the distinction of “Fellow” of the Leadership Academy with the NAPGCM in 2008, a distinction that recognizes professionals who have demonstrated themselves to be advanced practitioners and experts in the field of Geriatric Care Management. Fellows maintain a strong commitment to the mission, leadership and programs of the NAPGCM. The NAPGCM became the Aging Life Care Association (ALCA) in 2015.
Most recently Linda was honored with the President’s Award for Being an Amazing Mentor at the 2014 Annual Conference of the Western Regional Chapter of NAPGCM in Long Beach.
In March 2014, she was named as a “Woman of the Year” by the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors. The award recognizes the work of outstanding women and the contributions they have made to the local community. Assemblywoman Susan Bonilla celebrated with Linda at a reception in her honor for this accomplishment.
In 2011, Linda was honored with the B.J. Curry Spitler Community Service Award by the Western Regional Chapter of NAPGCM and in 2005 the Association presented Linda with the Rose Kleiner Award for her dedication and service to the profession.
Appointed by Mayor Gavin Newsom, Linda served on a select committee of experts that delivered an award-winning Alzheimer’s Care Plan for San Francisco in 2009.
In 2008, Linda was the recipient of the NAPGCM Adele Elkind award, the Association’s most prestigious award, which is bestowed upon a member who has significantly contributed at the national and local levels of service in the field of Geriatric Care Management.
Linda was selected to receive the John F. Kennedy University Laureate award for her substantial contributions to the University and her community in 2007. Linda continues to serve as a guest faculty member of JFK University.
Linda currently serves on the Lamorinda Village Task Force creating an organization that enables seniors to live at home. Linda also writes quarterly educational articles for seniors and their families for the Lamorinda Weekly.
Linda’s advice to family caregivers is consistently sought by many national magazines such as Consumer Reports, Forbes, Kiplinger’s and USA Today as well as the Wall Street Journal. Linda is often featured in several local newspapers, including the Contra Costa Times, East Bay Business Times and SF Business Times. As an expert in the field of Elder Care, Linda strongly advocates the importance of developing and providing access to the arts for seniors and was also quoted in the Diablo regional Arts Association Magazine. An ardent communicator and pioneer in the care management industry, Linda has also been published in many professional journals.
Passionate about educating family caregivers and professionals, Linda teaches a variety of classes and presents to numerous groups, promoting end of life planning and the value of professional Care Management.
